Eternal Faith Hospice in Warner Robins Earns Top 5% Recognition for Caregiver Experience
For the second consecutive year, Eternal Faith Hospice & Palliative Care in Warner Robins, Georgia, has been recognized among the top-performing hospice providers in Strategic Healthcare Programs’ national caregiver experience benchmark.
The Warner Robins team earned the 2025 SHPBest™ Hospice Caregiver Experience Premier Performer Award, an honor reserved for hospice providers whose overall caregiver experience score ranks in the top 5% of eligible providers in SHP’s national CAHPS Hospice benchmark.
The recognition follows the team’s 2024 Premier Performer Award, also placing Warner Robins in the top 5%.
For the team at Eternal Faith, earning the recognition two years in a row is meaningful not simply because of the award itself, but because of where the feedback comes from: the families and caregivers who experienced hospice care alongside their loved ones.
“Receiving this recognition for a second consecutive year means a great deal because it reflects the experience of the families we have the privilege to serve. Hospice is about being there for patients and their loved ones during an incredibly important time in their lives, and I’m proud of the Warner Robins team for the compassion, consistency, and support they bring to that responsibility every day.”
— Ashton Feudner, Regional Director of Operations, Eternal Faith Hospice & Palliative Care
What Is the SHPBest Hospice Caregiver Experience Award?
The annual SHPBest™ award program recognizes hospice providers based on caregiver experience results from the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) Hospice Survey.
Strategic Healthcare Programs, or SHP, benchmarks participating hospice providers using their CAHPS Hospice results. Under the SHPBest award methodology, the provider with the highest overall score earns Best-of-the-Best recognition, providers ranking in the top 5% earn Premier Performer recognition, and those ranking in the top 20% earn Superior Performer recognition.
For 2025, SHP reported that its benchmark included more than 1,900 hospice providers.
That makes Warner Robins’ second consecutive Premier Performer recognition an accomplishment worth celebrating, but understanding what goes into the caregiver experience scores gives the award greater meaning.
Why Caregiver Experience Matters in Hospice
Hospice care is centered on the patient, but the experience extends well beyond the patient alone.
Family members and other caregivers may be closely involved throughout the hospice journey. They may communicate with nurses about changes in a loved one’s condition, learn how to help manage symptoms between visits, make difficult decisions, seek support outside normal business hours, and rely on the hospice team for emotional and spiritual support.
The CAHPS Hospice Survey was specifically developed to measure those experiences. CMS describes it as a national survey of family members or friends who cared for someone who died while receiving hospice care. Results are also publicly reported through Medicare’s Care Compare program.
In other words, these aren’t simply internal satisfaction scores created by a hospice organization.
They come from the people who experienced the care from one of the closest possible perspectives.
What Does the CAHPS Hospice Survey Measure?
Caregiver experience in hospice encompasses much more than whether someone was generally “satisfied.”
The CAHPS Hospice Survey evaluates important parts of the hospice experience, including how well the hospice team communicates with families, whether caregivers receive timely help, whether patients are treated with dignity and respect, how effectively pain and other symptoms are addressed, and the emotional and spiritual support provided to patients and families. The survey also asks caregivers to rate the hospice and whether they would recommend it to others.
The revised survey also includes measures related to respecting care preferences and training families to care for their loved one.
These are practical parts of hospice care that can have a significant impact on a family’s experience.
A caregiver may remember whether someone answered when help was needed. Whether a nurse explained something in a way the family could understand. Whether their loved one was treated with dignity. Whether they felt prepared to provide care between hospice visits.
Those individual experiences are what make caregiver feedback especially meaningful.
Two Consecutive Years of Top 5% Recognition
One award represents an achievement. Receiving the same top-tier recognition for a second consecutive year also points to something particularly important in healthcare: consistency.
The Warner Robins location earned SHPBest Premier Performer recognition for both 2024 and 2025, placing its caregiver experience results within the top 5% of eligible providers in SHP’s benchmark in each year.
The 2025 certificate also recognizes the location for performing at or above the SHP national average across the applicable CAHPS Hospice quality measures.
For the nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, physicians, volunteers, and other professionals involved in hospice care, those results reflect countless individual interactions with patients and families.
Hospice care happens one conversation, one visit, and one family at a time.
What Should Families Look for When Choosing a Hospice Provider?
Awards can provide useful information, but they should be one part of a family’s decision.
When considering a hospice provider, families should feel comfortable asking questions about how care works in practice.
How will the hospice team communicate with the family? Who should caregivers call when symptoms change? Is clinical support available after hours? How often might members of the hospice team visit? How is hospice eligibility determined? What medications, equipment, and supplies may be provided? How are family caregivers supported and educated?
Families can also review publicly reported hospice quality and caregiver-experience information through Medicare’s Care Compare resources. CMS publishes CAHPS Hospice results specifically to help patients and families compare hospice providers and make informed decisions about care.
Most importantly, families should feel that their questions are heard and that the care being discussed reflects the needs, wishes, and dignity of the person they love.
